Tupelo man charged with attempted murder after apartment shooting
Braylen D. Clark, 20, of Tupelo was charged with attempted murder and several counts of shooting after a March 5 shooting at Monarch Creek Apartments, the Tupelo Police Department said.
Officers responded March 5 to Monarch Creek Apartments on Ida B. Wells Street for a report of a person shot, the department said. They found a victim with multiple gunshot wounds and provided care until medical personnel arrived.
The department’s Criminal Investigation Division processed the scene and located multiple vehicles and an apartment building that had been struck by gunfire, police said.
On March 12, after further investigation, Clark, who was already in custody on misdemeanor charges, was charged with attempted murder, five counts of shooting into a motor vehicle and one count of shooting into an occupied dwelling, the Tupelo Police Department said. Tupelo Municipal Court Judge Weir ordered Clark held without bond on March 12. The charges will be presented to the Lee County grand jury, the department said.
