Tupelo man charged with credit card fraud after vehicle theft
Authorities in Tupelo have arrested a man on charges of credit card fraud stemming from a theft involving a vehicle. The incident was reported on Jan. 28, when a victim told police he found his credit card missing after giving someone a ride.
Investigators later determined that the stolen card was used multiple times at various businesses in Tupelo. The case was further developed, leading to the arrest of Anthony P. Johnson, 24, on Feb. 4, according to police.
Johnson was charged with credit card fraud and held on a $5,000 bond, following a court order issued by Tupelo Municipal Court Judge Allen on Feb. 5. The case will now be presented to the Lee County grand jury for further proceedings, police said.
