Tupelo man charged with felony fleeing after traffic stop and crash
Tupelo police officers attempted to stop a black Toyota Camry on Nov. 7, 2025, near Ida B. Wells Street and Enoch Avenue for an equipment violation, according to authorities.
The vehicle drove erratically, running stop signs and fleeing law enforcement. It eventually collided with another vehicle, after which the occupants fled on foot, police said.
During the investigation, police identified the driver as Earnest Long Jr., 25, of Tupelo. He was arrested on April 2, 2026, and charged with felony fleeing, police said.
On April 3, 2026, Tupelo Municipal Court Judge Willie Allen ordered Long held on a $15,000 bond, according to court records.
