Tupelo man charged with felony trafficking methamphetamine after traffic stop
Police in Tupelo arrested a Baldwyn man on felony drug charges following a traffic stop on Feb. 1, according to authorities. Officers with the Tupelo Police Department’s Special Operations Group and the North Mississippi Narcotics Unit stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation.
During the stop, officers developed probable cause to search the vehicle, leading to the discovery of drug paraphernalia in the possession of the front seat passenger, Clifton J. Donald, 33. The officers also found a large amount of methamphetamine on Donald’s person, authorities said.
Donald was taken into custody and charged with felony trafficking of a Schedule II controlled substance. Tupelo Municipal Court Judge Willie Allen set bond at $200,000. The case is expected to be presented to the Lee County Grand Jury, police said.
