Tupelo police chief emphasizes community collaboration

Tupelo Police Chief John Quaka told WTVA in an interview that strong relationships between the department and the community are vital to public safety.

Quaka told WTVA reporter Tanya Carter that the Tupelo Police Department will hold a Citizens Police Academy to give residents a closer look at department operations.

Quaka said the academy gives community members the opportunity to learn how the department operates and how officers serve the Tupelo community each day.

The Tupelo Police Department said it is always seeking solutions to keep the community safe. WTVA posted a video of the interview with Quaka for viewers seeking more details.
