Arrest Made by Tupelo Police Department in Vehicle Burglary Case

Tupelo, MS — June 28, 2024

In a significant development, the Tupelo Police Department has apprehended Shelley A. Wright (33, Tupelo) following a recent warrant issued by the Lee County Circuit Court. Wright faces charges related to a vehicle burglary incident that occurred in November 2023 at Mac’s Tire on West Main Street.

The arrest stems from an incident where Wright allegedly burglarized a vehicle parked at the aforementioned location. According to reports, an employee of Mac’s Tire caught the suspect red-handed during the burglary attempt, prompting Wright to flee the scene. Law enforcement officers responded swiftly and managed to apprehend Wright shortly after the incident occurred.

Lee County Circuit Court had issued an Alias Capias Warrant against Wright, leading to her arrest. At the time of issuance, Wright was ordered to be held without bond pending trial in Lee County Circuit Court.

The case is currently awaiting trial proceedings as authorities continue their investigation into the matter. The Tupelo Police Department has not disclosed further details regarding the ongoing investigation.
