De Kalb native Mario Nash Jr. removed from Mississippi State roster
Mississippi State has removed offensive tackle Mario Nash Jr. from its roster and website, and school officials did not announce a reason, the Mississippi State roster shows.
Nash, a De Kalb native and a four-star prospect from Kemper County High School, was part of the 2025 recruiting class, according to recruiting reports. He initially committed to Mississippi State before flipping to Florida State, where he spent his first season and redshirted. He entered the transfer portal after that season and later signed with Jeff Lebby and the Bulldogs, recruiting reports show.
SuperTalk Mississippi News reported, citing sources, that Nash was not expected to start on the offensive line this season. Mississippi State is projected to start three newcomers on the line this year, and coaches had not listed Nash among those expected to take primary or secondary snaps, SuperTalk reported.
Nash has not announced his plans publicly. Mississippi State will continue preseason camp as it prepares for the Sept. 5 home opener against Louisiana-Monroe.
