Federal court says NAACP has standing in Clean Air Act suit over Southaven turbines
A federal judge on Oct. 30, 2026 rejected SpaceX’s bid to dismiss a Clean Air Act lawsuit, holding that the NAACP has statutory standing to bring the case over the company’s power plant in Southaven.
The U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Mississippi issued the ruling, the Mississippi Free Press reported.
The lawsuit, according to the Mississippi Free Press, accuses SpaceX of endangering public health by operating dozens of unpermitted gas turbines at its Southaven power plant.
