JACKSON, Miss. — The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit upheld the dismissal of a lawsuit alleging lead contamination in the city’s water system, WJTV reported.
The case, Sterling v. The City of Jackson, alleged that lead in the municipal water supply violated residents’ constitutional rights, according to WJTV.
The appeals court’s decision leaves the lower court’s dismissal in place, WJTV reported.
WJTV did not provide additional details on the court’s reasoning, any orders issued, or whether the plaintiffs plan further legal action.
