ICE Shackles, Separates Brothers as They Board School Bus, Mississippi Paper Says
U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents arrested brothers Israel and Max Makoka as they were about to board a school bus in Diamondhead, Mississippi, the Mississippi Free Press reported.
The report said the brothers were shackled and separated after the arrests.
According to the Mississippi Free Press, one brother was held in a Louisiana prison and faced confinement and pressure to “self-deport.”
The other brother was sent to a youth home in Texas, the report said. The account appeared in the Mississippi Free Press.
