Lafayette County woman arrested after four children test positive for drugs

A Lafayette County woman was arrested and charged after four of her children reportedly tested positive for drugs, the sheriff’s office said.

Twenty-eight-year-old Nydia Hudson faces four counts of felony child endangerment, officials said. Authorities said the charges stem from a July 1 document indicating Hudson and her underage children had illegal substances in their systems.

Officials did not specify which drug was detected, the sheriff’s office said.

On July 2, deputies located Hudson at her Lafayette County residence and took her into custody without incident, the sheriff’s office said. She was transported to the Lafayette County Detention Center, later appeared in court and is being held on a $10,000 bond, officials said.

Authorities did not say who currently has custody of the children and did not report any injuries linked to the substances. The case remains under investigation, the sheriff’s office said.
