Mississippi circuit clerk offices open two Saturdays for in-person absentee voting ahead of Nov. 3 election
Circuit clerk offices statewide will be open Saturday, Oct. 24, and Saturday, Oct. 31, from 8 a.m. until noon for in-person absentee voting. Offices will also be open during normal business hours Monday through Friday up to the final day for in-person absentee voting on Oct. 31.
SuperTalk Mississippi reported the schedule and said a list of circuit clerk offices is available from election authorities.
For voters casting absentee ballots by mail, ballots must be postmarked on or before the election date, Tuesday, Nov. 3, the report said.
Eligible reasons for voting absentee include, but are not limited to, being out of town on Election Day, having to work during polling hours, living with a disability, or being older than 65, according to the report.
Statewide contests include the U.S. Senate race for the seat held by Republican Cindy Hyde-Smith, all four U.S. House seats, judicial races, and special state House elections in parts of Hinds, Rankin and Simpson counties, SuperTalk Mississippi reported.
The Mississippi Secretary of State’s Office provides lists of candidates by race and district and sample ballots searchable by ZIP code, the report said.
