On Oct. 29, 2026, the Mississippi Department of Education named four schools as 2026 Mississippi Blue Ribbon Schools, recognizing institutions that either excel in academic performance or make significant strides in closing achievement gaps, Magnolia Tribune reported.
The four schools and their classifications are:
Exemplary High Performing Schools: Ackerman Elementary School (Choctaw County School District) and Madison Station Elementary (Madison County School District)
Exemplary Achievement Gap Closing Schools: Northeast Lauderdale High School (Lauderdale County School District) and Oakdale Elementary School (Rankin County School District)
