Mississippi State Weighs Return of Jahron Manning, Malick Sylla Amid NCAA Legal Battles

Mississippi State is monitoring the potential return of Jahron Manning and Malick Sylla as court actions and appeals tied to the NCAA play out, Brian Hadad reported.

Coach Jeff Lebby and athletic director Zac Selmon addressed the possibility of the players’ return, Hadad wrote, but offered no definitive timeline for their arrival on campus.

The legal landscape — described by Hadad as including courtrooms, injunctions and appeals — has become an increasingly prominent factor in college football roster questions. Hadad said the outcome of those processes will shape whether the players are available for the 2026 season.

Hadad reported that Mississippi State officials are watching the cases closely and that any decisions about Manning and Sylla will depend on the unfolding legal and regulatory rulings, according to statements from Lebby and Selmon.
