MS Board of Education votes to waive state testing and accountability scores
The Mississippi State Board of Education voted on Thursday to waive all state and federal testing for the 2019-20 school year.
They also voted to suspend the accountability scoring for this academic year.
This comes as Governor Reeves announced schools will be closed until April 17th.
The MHSAA has also cancelled all school sporting events until mid-April and potentially longer.
“This is not a time to panic, we are in uncharted waters but we will get through it,” Reeves added.
50 cases of coronavirus have been positively confirmed in the state as of Thursday.
