North MS father arrested for shooting son in chest
A man in Prentiss county is in jail and his son is in the hospital after an altercation led to a gunshot wound to the chest, according to authorities.
From the Prentiss County sheriffs department:
In the early morning hours of Tuesday 01/08 around 1am, Prentiss County Deputies Gary Garrett and Dallas Lumpkin, responded to a domestic disturbance with shots fired at a residence on CR 7030. When Deputies arrived they found a 26 year old male suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest. The victim, Austin Dale Goff was transported to Baptist Memorial then to the Med in Memphis, and he remains in stable condition
Deputies arrested Christopher Dale Goff 47, (the victims Father) and charged him with Domestic Violence Aggravated Assault. The weapon was recovered at the scene. Bond has been set at $25,000. Investigator Torie Jumper is investigating the case and will present it to the next Prentiss County Grand Jury.
