Silver Alert issued for missing Mississippi senior citizen

Silver alert issued from missing Mississippi senior citizen.

*** SILVER ALERT ***

The Mississippi Bureau of Investigation has issued a Silver Alert for 64 year old Willie C. Purnell, also known as “Nor” of Belzoni, Humphreys County, MS.

He is described as a black male, 5’6” tall, weighing 160 pounds with greying hair and black eyes. He had on blue jeans, a blue shirt, and a gray sweater when he was last seen. He may be accompanied by an unknown person.

Mr. Purnell was last seen January 2, 2019, at about 10 a.m. in the vicinity of the Zip Trip on Highway 49 in Humphreys County. Witnesses say Mr. Purnell accepted a ride from the Zip Trip in a small black Nissan car, year and make of model unknown, tag number unknown. There is also no description of the person who was driving the Nissan.

Family members say Mr. Purnell suffers from a medical condition that may impair his judgement. If anyone has information regarding the whereabouts of Willie C. Purnell contact the Humphreys County Sheriff’s Department at 662-247-2551.
