Oct. 5 is last day to register to vote in Mississippi ahead of Nov. 3 midterms
Monday, Oct. 5, is the final day to register or update voter registration in Mississippi before the Nov. 3 federal midterm elections, which will decide all four of the state’s U.S. House seats and one of its two U.S. Senate seats.
SuperTalk Mississippi reported that voters also will decide a number of judicial races and several special local elections on Nov. 3.
Voters may register or update registration by mail or in person. The state form can be printed, filled out and mailed to the voter’s county circuit clerk’s office; mailed applications must be postmarked by Oct. 5. Forms are also available at public libraries and public schools.
In-person registration is available at county circuit clerk offices and driver’s license exam stations across the state.
For voters already registered and eligible to vote absentee, SuperTalk Mississippi said in-person and mail-in absentee ballots are available at circuit clerks’ offices. Absentee voting began Sept. 19.
Polls statewide will be open on Election Day, Nov. 3, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Voters must bring an acceptable form of photo identification, such as a driver’s license or passport, to their polling location.
