One dead, one critically injured in Lamar County crash on U.S. 98

One person died and another was critically injured in a crash on U.S. Highway 98 in Lamar County around 11:00 p.m. on Sept. 22, WJTV reported.

WJTV said the Mississippi Highway Patrol identified a 2008 Jeep Cherokee, driven by Skylar P. Smith, 32, as involved. Troopers told WJTV the Jeep was traveling west on U.S. 98 at the time of the crash.

The Mississippi Highway Patrol announced a Purvis resident was killed; WJTV attributed the information to troopers and did not identify the other person involved in its report.
