Picayune woman, 77, killed in crash on I-59 in Pearl River County

A 77-year-old woman from Picayune died after a crash on Interstate 59 in Pearl River County on Oct. 14, 2026, the Mississippi Highway Patrol said.

The Mississippi Highway Patrol said the crash occurred at approximately 7:30 a.m. when a 2016 Kia Sedona driven by 77-year-old Barbara Haralson, with 36-year-old passenger Kelton Haralson of Picayune, MS, was traveling north on Interstate 59, ran off the road and collided with a tree.

Both Barbara and Kelton Haralson sustained injuries and were transported to a local hospital, where Barbara Haralson was later pronounced dead, the patrol said.

The crash remains under investigation by the Mississippi Highway Patrol.
