Southern Black Girls and Women’s Consortium Awards $350,000 to 24 Local Groups
The Southern Black Girls and Women’s Consortium will award $350,000 to 24 community organizations across 13 Southern states to support programs addressing acute challenges facing underserved Black women and girls, the Mississippi Free Press reported.
The grants are intended to fund programs that take on urgent needs affecting Black women and girls in the South, the report said.
The announcement was made as part of what the Mississippi Free Press described as a ‘joy-filled tour,’ the report said.
