Sydney Moss of Mississippi Christian University won the 2026 Mississippi Women’s Amateur at Patrick Farms Golf Club in Pearl, prevailing in a playoff with a par on the fourth extra hole, tournament results show.
Jackson State’s Maddy Beeching shot a final-round 71 to tie Moss after 54 holes and force the playoff, the results show. Moss entered the final round with a two-shot lead but shot 73 in the final round; she and Beeching finished even par for the tournament. Harper Hinkley of Summit and Mississippi State shot a final-round 71 and finished third, two strokes back.
Moss is a Shreveport native and the daughter of former LSU All-American and PGA Tour player Perry Moss, Mississippi Christian University said. She previously won two Louisiana junior championships and a Louisiana State Women’s Amateur, according to school and tournament records. Jackson State listed Beeching as a Ridgeland resident and a native of Camberly, England.
Moss began her college career at the University of Memphis before transferring to Stephen F. Austin and then to Mississippi Christian University. Mississippi Christian University said Moss earned All-Gulf South Conference honors as a junior this spring.
In other divisions, Lee Burke of Madison won the 36-hole senior division with rounds of 73-73, edging 12-time State Amateur winner Cissye Gallagher of Greenwood by one shot, tournament officials said. Betty Lou Sutherland of Madison won the Grand Lady division, for players 70 and older, with rounds of 70-71, besting runner-up Marsha Stewart of Pearl, who shot 71-74.
