Toys ‘R’ Us to open at The Outlets of Mississippi in Pearl on Oct. 5, 2026

Toys ‘R’ Us will open a 4,645-square-foot standalone store at The Outlets of Mississippi in Pearl on Monday, Oct. 5, 2026, Kathy Hackshaw, director of retail at The Outlets of Mississippi, confirmed to SuperTalk Mississippi.

SuperTalk Mississippi reported the new store will occupy Suite 300 at 200 Bass Pro Drive, next to the shopping center’s playground and across from The Children’s Place, about 12 miles south of the former County Line Road location in the Jackson area.

SuperTalk Mississippi wrote that Toys ‘R’ Us announced in September it is opening 120 new standalone stores across the country this holiday season in partnership with Go! Retail Group, bringing the total number of standalone U.S. Toys ‘R’ Us stores to 160.

The retailer said the new standalone stores will carry toys, collectibles and gifts from brands including LEGO, Barbie, Hot Wheels, Pokémon, Melissa & Doug and Matchbox, along with plush toys, action figures, dolls, learning games and building blocks, SuperTalk Mississippi reported.

Some Toys ‘R’ Us locations will offer additional experiences such as Creator Studios, candy shops and cafés, but SuperTalk Mississippi reported it has not been announced whether the Pearl store will include any of those features.

For now, SuperTalk Mississippi noted, Pearl is the only standalone Toys ‘R’ Us location announced for Mississippi. The company has also expanded through shops inside Macy’s stores and at Navy Exchange facilities; SuperTalk Mississippi said the retailer’s store locator does not list another standalone Mississippi store and that Mississippi hosts Navy Exchange facilities in Gulfport and Meridian.

SuperTalk Mississippi summarized the company’s recent history, reporting that Toys ‘R’ Us filed for Chapter 11 in September 2017 and closed U.S. stores in 2018, was later acquired in part by WHP Global in 2021, opened a flagship at the American Dream mall that December and began placing Toys ‘R’ Us shops inside Macy’s in 2022. The outlet said the latest expansion is being carried out in partnership with Go! Retail Group.

“This is a major moment for Toys ‘R’ Us as we significantly expand our presence across the United States,” Jamie Uitdenhowen, executive vice president of Toys “R” Us at WHP Global, said, SuperTalk Mississippi reported.

SuperTalk Mississippi said the new Pearl store will return the Toys ‘R’ Us name to the Jackson metro ahead of the 2026 holiday shopping season.
