Woman arrested for using child to try and cash stolen check

A Booneville woman was arrested on charges of using a minor to try and cash a stolen check amoung other charges.

On October 1, 2021, a citizen filed a report with our agency stating one of their personal checks had been stolen and forged. An unidentified suspect attempted to pass the stolen check at a bank on North Second Street.

Investigation conducted by our Criminal Investigation Division identified the suspect as a minor. Further investigation determined Victoria Christine Jasch, 24 of Booneville, directed the minor to attempt to utter the forged check at the bank.

Ms. Jasch was arrested by our Criminal Investigation Division on October 15, 2021. At the time of her arrest, she was determined to be in possession of numerous stolen personal identifying documents and illegal items.

As a result, she was charged with one count of directing a minor to commit a felony and twenty counts of obtaining personal identification information for unlawful use. Her bond was set at $75,000.00.

This investigation is still ongoing with additional charges expected.
