Acting ICE chief to leave agency at end of May, DHS secretary announces

Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin announced Thursday that Todd Lyons, the acting head of Immigration and Customs Enforcement, will leave his position at the end of next month.

Mullin shared the news on the social platform X, saying Lyons will be departing on May 31 for a new role in the private sector.

The departure marks a change in leadership at ICE, though no further details about Lyons’s next role were provided. The agency has not announced a replacement for his position.
