Bears beat Seahawks 34-17 at Lumen Field, improve to 6-2
The Chicago Bears defeated the Seattle Seahawks 34-17 at Lumen Field, improving to 6-2 on the season.
Fox News’ Outkick wrote that the victory underscored the Bears as the NFC North’s most complete team, noting Minnesota remained first in the division at 6-1 while Detroit was 5-2 and Green Bay 5-3.
Chicago totaled 363 yards, including 237 passing. Quarterback Caleb Williams threw the only Bears touchdown pass, a 23-yard strike to Luther Burden III, and became the first quarterback to pass for more than 200 yards against the Seahawks’ defense that had been allowing 233.9 yards per game entering the matchup. Rome Odunze finished with 87 yards on four receptions, including a 24-yard gain.
Running back D’Andre Swift scored three rushing touchdowns for the Bears.
Defensively, the Bears deployed new acquisition Jeffery Simmons in his first game with the team since being traded; Outkick reported Simmons finished tied for the team lead with six combined tackles, added a sack and had two tackles for loss. James Lynch forced an interception when the score was 27-17 with six minutes remaining, a turnover that Outkick said set up Swift’s third touchdown.
Outkick wrote that the Seahawks, who acquired left guard Quenton Nelson from the Indianapolis Colts before the season and had rookie Jadarian Price return from injury and Zach Charbonnet make his season debut, managed just 81 yards rushing. Receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba recorded another 100-yard-plus game and scored shortly before halftime.
Outkick concluded the Bears made a clear statement with the win in a hostile Seattle environment.
