China launches Shenzhou 23 with one astronaut set for yearlong mission

China launched the Shenzhou 23 spacecraft, sending three astronauts to its space station, Chinese authorities said.

Officials said one crew member will remain aboard for a year to study human adaptability in long-duration spaceflight.

The three astronauts are headed to the country’s space station to carry out planned missions, officials said.
