A new federal plan for the Colorado River will reduce water deliveries to Arizona, federal officials said. City leaders said the state will not run out of water but that delivering supply under the new rules will be costly.
City leaders said they have planned for years and have measures in place to ensure residents and businesses continue to receive water. They characterized shortages as unlikely in the near term.
Officials warned, however, that maintaining those supplies under the federal rules will be expensive and that customers should expect higher water bills, city leaders said.
