Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth decided to livestream the execution of convicted Fort Hood shooter Nidal Hasan, who killed 13 people in Texas in 2009, and Republican lawmakers in both chambers pushed back, The Hill reported on Oct. 10, 2026.
According to The Hill, lawmakers said the focus should be on justice for the victims and their families.
