Republicans extend win streak in Congressional charity baseball game

Republican lawmakers beat Democrats Wednesday at Nationals Park in the annual Congressional Baseball Game for Charity, extending the GOP’s winning streak to six consecutive seasons, organizers said.

Rep. Greg Steube, R-Fla., pitched a complete game, striking out five batters and throwing nearly 100 pitches, the GOP team said.

The exhibition, held each year to raise money for charity, featured lawmakers from both parties, organizers said.

Organizers provided the outcome and Steube’s performance but did not offer additional statistics in the initial account of the game, according to the GOP team.
