Spurs snap Knicks’ 13-game playoff win streak at Madison Square Garden

The San Antonio Spurs snapped the New York Knicks’ 13-game playoff winning streak with a Game 3 victory at Madison Square Garden, but the Knicks still lead the series 2-1, Fox News Digital reported.

Victor Wembanyama scored 32 points and added eight rebounds and six assists to lead the Spurs, Fox News Digital said. De’Aaron Fox and Stephon Castle hit key baskets down the stretch. San Antonio built an 11-point lead after the first quarter, with Wembanyama scoring nine on 4-of-6 shooting and Castle hitting a perfect 3-for-3, Fox News Digital reported. New York rallied before halftime and led 64-57 on 17 points from OG Anunoby and 15 from Jalen Brunson, while Josh Hart added 13, Fox News Digital said.

The Spurs erased the deficit in the second half and kept the Knicks from regaining control in the fourth, when New York went 2-for-12 from three-point range, Fox News Digital reported. Castle buried a go-ahead 3-pointer with 1:53 left, Fox hit a 15-foot step-back jumper with 12.2 seconds remaining, and Castle closed the game by making two free throws after a late Anunoby three. Anunoby finished with 28 points, and Landry Shamet struggled, going 1-for-8 from the field, including 1-for-7 from long range, Fox News Digital said.

Fox News Digital reported that President Donald Trump was in attendance, seated with Knicks owner James Dolan, and that security was heightened at the arena. Game 4 is scheduled for Wednesday at 8:30 p.m. ET at Madison Square Garden, Fox News Digital said.
