Titans release defensive tackle Jordan Elliott after incident at team facility
The Tennessee Titans announced Oct. 20 that they had released defensive tackle Jordan Elliott after reviewing an unspecified incident at the club’s facility, Fox News reported.
In a statement quoted by Fox News, the Titans said, “On Thursday, Oct. 15, there was an incident at our team facility involving Jordan Elliott. Following our review of the incident, we have made the decision to release Elliott from our roster. We will have no further comment on the matter.”
Elliott appeared in five games this season for Tennessee and recorded 11 total tackles, the report said. He had previously worked under defensive coordinator Robert Saleh for two seasons in San Francisco before following Saleh to Tennessee.
The report also said defensive back Alontae Taylor did not play in the most recent game because of a coach’s decision; head coach Robert Saleh did not provide further details. Taylor signed a three-year, $58 million contract with the Titans in March and had 19 tackles and one sack through the first five games of the season, Fox News noted.
The story noted the Titans rallied for a 26-20 victory over the Indianapolis Colts in Week 6 for their first win of the season and were set to return to Nissan Stadium to host the AFC North-leading Cleveland Browns.
