A public notice said temperatures will drop below freezing overnight from March 16 into March 17, 2026, and urged residents to follow the “four P’s” of preparedness: people, pets, pipes and plants.

Organizers announced a virtual public meeting at 5 p.m. Thursday, March 26, to report what they heard during the Statewide Transit Plan and Intercity Bus Study.

The Mississippi Department of Public Safety said its Jackson station reopened at 10:04 a.m. on March 16. The Vicksburg station remains closed and customers are asked to schedule appointments at dps.ms.gov.

Braylen D. Clark, 20, was charged with attempted murder and multiple counts of shooting after a March 5 shooting at Monarch Creek Apartments, the Tupelo Police Department said.

Jimmy W. Thrasher, 59, of Verona, was arrested March 13 and charged with burglary after items were reported stolen from a storage unit at Romie’s on Feb. 11, police said.

Tilar T. Thompson, 25, of Tupelo, was arrested March 13 and charged with aggravated domestic violence after a woman reported being assaulted, authorities said. A judge ordered Thompson held on $40,000 bond.
