DeSoto County Dream Center Prepares for Annual Backpack Giveaway Event

June 27 – The DeSoto County Dream Center, a prominent nonprofit dedicated to supporting Title 1 school students and their families, is gearing up for its highly anticipated Backpack Giveaway event on July 13. Held at Latimer Lakes Park in Horn Lake, this initiative aims to distribute over 1,500 backpacks filled with school supplies to students in need across DeSoto County.

The Backpack Giveaway not only aims to alleviate the financial strain on families but also emphasizes personal connections and support. Each student receiving a backpack will be offered prayers and encouragement, underscoring the Dream Center’s commitment to holistic care beyond material assistance.

“This event is about more than just giving out backpacks. It’s about building relationships with the families we serve and meeting their deeper needs,” remarked a spokesperson from the Dream Center.
