Jaedin Jacques Hatchett received a 25-year sentence after pleading guilty to second-degree murder in connection with a 2023 shooting in Tupelo, Mississippi.

The Tupelo Police Department said it observed National School Resource Officer Day this past weekend and thanked its school resource officers for their role in keeping schools safe and supporting students and staff.

Octavious Nathaniel Coleman was arrested Feb. 10 after agents said they found drugs in his vehicle and at a Saltillo residence, authorities said.
