The unemployment rate in Mississippi rose to 4.9% in July, the 4th highest mark in the nation, according to data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics. The national unemployment rate sits at 3.9%.
Other key economic indicators saw the consumer price index, the cost of the goods you buy, increased as well.
