Reports of fake/counterfeit money being used in Ripley

Local stores have made reports of them receiving fake or counterfeit money. If you are a business owner or a consumer, check your money closely for fake bills.

The instances of this happening is higher during the businer holiday season.

The u.s. currency education program recommends making sure a twenty dollar bill is real by feeling the paper and moving your finger across the note. It should be rough from the printing process.

There are other tips to seeing if money you get is real or not, but one of the most instant and easiest is using a counterfeit detection pen.
