Ribbon cutting for new grocery store that owner hopes to make one stop shopping experience

A ribbon cutting was held on Wednesday morning at the new Sav Mart grocery store in Walnut at the site that was previously the Walmart Neighborhood Market.

Chris Lewellen with the Tippah County Development foundation as well as representatives from numerous government agencies, including mayor Vickie Skinner of Walnut and members of the Walnut board of Aldermen, were on hand as well as local business leaders including officials with the People’s Bank.

“I appreciate the warm welcome Tippah County and the town of Walnut have shown our business,” store owner Nabil “Bill” Saleh said.

Saleh went on to express his desire to make his store, which has groceries, a deli, gas and a cell phone repair station, a one stop shop that one day includes a pharmacy and more.
