Tippah County towns being awarded over a million dollars

Tippah county appears to be benefiting from the recent Rounds of funding aimed at infrastructure improvements, with $1.25 million in individual projects earmarked for local towns at a house appropriations meeting on Wednesday August 29th.

This comes on the heels of a recent Vote to approve a lottery and other sources of new state revenue. The money for these individual projects will be allocated from the BP oil spill funds.

As part of the proposal, Ripley is scheduled to receive $500,000 for projects while Falkner, Walnut and Blue Mountain are also scheduled to receive money
