Johnson quashes farm bill revolt; House adopts budget blueprint for immigration enforcement

The House voted 215-211-1 Wednesday to adopt a budget blueprint that would clear the way for a second reconciliation bill aimed at funding immigration enforcement, according to the House roll call.

The vote was largely along party lines, with Rep. Kevin Kiley (I-Calif.) recorded as voting present, the roll call shows.

The adopted blueprint will allow House leaders to draft a second reconciliation measure focused on immigration enforcement, supporters said during debate on the floor.

Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) moved to quash a rebellion over the farm bill, an action that cleared the procedural path for the vote, according to House proceedings.
