Detour Alert in Hernando
According to the City of Hernando the ongoing construction of the roundabout at Highway 51 and Oak Grove is progressing into Phase 3. Commencing this Saturday, July 13, the project will necessitate the complete closure of the intersection for approximately one week. Officials assure the public that construction remains on track for completion before the start of the school year on August 1.
During the closure, the West detour route remains unchanged, guiding traffic from Hill Street to College. For motorists traveling East, the designated detour will direct them via Park Street to Magnolia Drive, rejoining Highway 51. Authorities advise extra caution when navigating the East detour route due to potential increased traffic and unfamiliar road conditions.
The City of Hernando encourages residents and commuters to plan alternate routes and allow additional travel time during this period. Updates on the construction progress and any further adjustments to traffic patterns will be communicated through official channels.
