Part of Highway 4 in Tippah County to be closed for two months

Part of State Route 4 in Tippah County will be closed starting this week until Mid-July according to MDOT.

WHAT: Temporary highway closure. Stay updated with live travel information at MDOTtraffic.com or download the MDOT Traffic mobile app.WHEN: Wednesday, May 8, 2019, until approximately mid-July.

WHERE:  State Route 4 in Tippah County about 0.65 miles west of the Prentiss County line.WHY: Slide repair.

HOW: An emergency slide repair project will temporarily close State Route 4 in Tippah County from May 8 until approximately mid-July. Century Construction has been awarded the $799,000 emergency contract to repair a section of highway that failed earlier this year due to heavy rains. A signed detour will be in place using State Route 15 and State Route 30.
