Possibility for snow, ice in Tippah County as record cold moves into area
The National Weather service is issuing a special weather statement for next week as record cold temperatures move into the area.
The main threat is the cold, but light snow and ice could make travel dangerous.
From the NWS:
A strong cold front will move through the Mid-South on Monday. Rain will briefly change to sleet and snow Monday Night before precipitation ends. Little to no sleet and snow accumulation is expected.
Dangerous, record breaking cold temperatures are expected Monday night through Wednesday morning. In addition, wind chill values will drop into the single digits Monday Night into early Tuesday.
