The Mississippi Department of Transportation urged motorists to check real-time traffic, buckle up and avoid distractions as Labor Day travel begins.

The Mississippi Emergency Management Agency said Disaster Service Centers in four coastal counties will be closed Sept. 5-7 for the Labor Day holiday. Residents have until 6 p.m. tonight to visit; centers reopen Sept. 8 at noon.
