Tupelo police, Crime Stoppers seek man in vehicle burglary at South Gloster Walmart

Crime Stoppers of Northeast Mississippi and the Tupelo Police Department asked for the public’s help locating an unidentified man they say stole a purse from a vehicle at 316 South Gloster, the Walmart Neighborhood Market, on March 8 at about 7:08 p.m., the agencies said.

The Tupelo Police Department said officers responding to a reported theft found that an unidentified male entered the victim’s vehicle while she was loading groceries into the rear and removed her purse. The man then fled on foot down Carnation Street behind a nearby business, the department said.

The purse was later recovered in the area, but about $300 in cash was missing, the Tupelo Police Department said.

Crime Stoppers of Northeast Mississippi asked anyone with information to call 800-773-TIPS (8477) or to submit an anonymous tip through the P3 Tip app. Crime Stoppers said it will pay up to $2,000 for information that leads to an arrest and that it does not seek callers’ names, only information.
