Northeast Mississippi Community College Honors Alumnus Kent Geno
Northeast Mississippi Community College is highlighting alumnus Kent Geno, president of Cook Coggin Engineers. The firm was recently named Mississippi’s “Best of the Best” engineering company, according to the college.
Cook Coggin has completed numerous projects for Northeast and established the Cook Coggin Engineers, Inc. Endowed Scholarship. The scholarship supports full-time pre-engineering students from several counties, provided they maintain a 2.5 GPA or higher.
The company has also mentored 13 Northeast students through the college’s Tiger Apprenticeship program, offering industry experience while students complete their career technical education degrees. Currently, Cook Coggin employs 30 Northeast graduates, boosting the regional workforce and strengthening ties with the college.
Geno’s leadership and ongoing support exemplify what it means to be “Forever a Tiger,” according to Northeast officials.
