MEMA: Damage-report tool not a 9-1-1 service or aid application

The Mississippi Emergency Management Agency (MEMA) warned that its citizen self-reporting links by county are not a 9-1-1 service, MEMA said.

MEMA said the online tool is a data-collection resource for reporting storm damage. The agency described the links as organized by county.

The agency urged residents with immediate, life-threatening needs after a storm to call 9-1-1, MEMA said.

MEMA also said submitting a damage report through the tool is not an application for financial assistance. The agency did not provide additional details in the notice.
