Mississippi agency marks International Museum Day, offers free state highway map
The Mississippi Department of Transportation is marking International Museum Day by encouraging residents to visit museums across the state and offering a free State Highway Map to help plan trips, the agency said.
In a statement, the department said museums “are more than places that preserve history,” calling them spaces where generations connect, communities come together and stories travel across borders and through time.
The release highlighted examples including civil rights landmarks, music museums and lesser-known sites along the state’s backroads as places that can inspire visitors.
MDOT said the free State Highway Map can be ordered at GoMDOT.com/Maps to help drivers plan road trips and locate historical and cultural sites around Mississippi.
