Mississippi to make teacher supply funds available July 15, 2026, MDE says

The Mississippi Department of Education said it will make EEF funds available to teachers on July 15, 2026, the department said in a written response to a state review.

A report released last year by the office that conducted the review found that 75% of Mississippi teachers did not have access to their classroom supply funds at the start of the school year, forcing many to pay out of pocket or begin with empty classrooms, the report said.

In its response, the Mississippi Department of Education said, “The Department will make EEF funds available to teachers on July 15, 2026.” The department added, “A July 15 activation allows MDE to load and activate accounts promptly so that money is available well before the great majority of teachers return to their classrooms.”

The office had requested an update from the department on steps to ensure public school teachers receive their funds before returning to classrooms this year, the office said.
