The Mississippi Department of Education told the state auditor in June that it will “make EEF funds available to teachers on July 15, 2026,” the auditor’s office said.
State Auditor Shad White has said teachers should have their EEF cards before professional development days, the office said.
The auditor’s office said the timing of those payments is controlled by the Mississippi Department of Education and local school districts.
The office said it is committed to transparency in state government and will continue to work to ensure teachers do not have to spend their own money to set up their classroom.
